Meet Your Counselor
Amber Anderson, M.S., LMHC
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel tough, but healing is absolutely possible! I’d be honored to be the therapist who walks alongside you on that journey. I’ve had a passion for mental health from a young age, and I’m deeply committed to helping my clients lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
One of the best parts of being a counselor is seeing someone regain their power after feeling stuck or helpless for so long. I get the privilege of being a safe space for people who’ve never felt safe or haven’t in a long time. Every day, I get to sit, listen, cry, and laugh with people as they share some of their toughest moments. This is exactly why Light the Path Counseling exists—I’m here to walk with you through your darkness, offering a light to guide the way. For that, I’m incredibly grateful.
I work with clients 16 and up, using approaches like EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness. I believe in being empathic, open-minded, and trustworthy throughout the process.
I’ve worked with people dealing with trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and substance use. I also have a special passion for helping those who’ve been incarcerated as they reintegrate into society. That includes healing from their experiences with the criminal justice system, working through trauma, and navigating the challenges of reintegration, like meeting probation or parole requirements and rebuilding healthy relationships and boundaries.
